Ohhhhh be-still my Celtic heart...

“Canadian Tire - great when you need mediocre hockey pads or a toaster oven that you’re going to leave behind”

First off - that sucks. Glad you’re OK.
Secondly - consider people who get SUVs/pickups for rentals *might* hoon the ever-loving-shite out of them off-road, wash them and return them to the desk as if it was babied the entire time...
Perhaps your example had some abuse in its past...?

Just curious - you mentioned “and in real world winter conditions more like 150" and “Even worse in sub 50 degree weather”. Have you used it in 10 or 20 degree weather? Asking for those of us in the north...

Completely agree Erin - nothing wrong with a proper ignition switch. I can’t fit the damn fob in my skinny jeans and the cupholder is holding my Starbucks super-mocha-frappa-fancy-coffee...I suppose I could stick it in my man-bun (a-la Marge Simpson) but what if I’m wearing that nifty fedora I just picked up at the

Geebus - that sucks! Fly into DFW all the time and I also don’t need a receipt. Think I’ll take a time-stamped photo with the cell phone next time I drop off a car...

I believe I read a post on BookFace some time ago that Bill Caswell was looking to setup some sort of portable fab shop to help people with racecar projects...maybe reach out to him?

Texas car -> hail damage...?

“Instead you’d probably want to listen for any noises that might indicate chain guide wear.”

Almost the same size and weight as my (may it Rest In many Pieces) 2004 Mazda 6 V6, with 30 less HP.

Best damn thing I’ve read all day...have yourself a star...

Wow - lots of traffic on this one.
Yes, I am proud of what all of us have been able to accomplish where I work. And everyone, all 500+ of us, are in the same boat. 105 hours of OT in a month is just over 65 hrs a week. Not awesome, but not impossible and happens very often where I am (engineering/consulting).
I have

“...and those that don’t are forced to work ridiculous amounts of overtime—105 hours in a month, in one case...”

Ice racing in Minden is a blast! Look up “Ice Racing in Minden” on facebook. There’s even a “Lexus Sport Cup” series that you can rent into for $250 (I think?). I’ve done a few rental races myself (in a different car) and it’s an absolute howl.  C’mon up before the season ends!

These men live in Peterborough, which isn’t far from North America’s largest (I think?) land based ice racing track in Minden, Ontario.
Gentlemen, if you’re reading this, please reach our to the Minden Ice Racing Association and race this car until it dies. It is far too awesome to let it sit in a field again...

Thank you kind sir!

Dodge are now telling me to go 10k miles between oil on my ‘13 Grand Caravan-borghini. Thoughts? I’m still holding on to my 3k change interval from days of yore...

I’ll take it for $5 over scrap value and make it a racecar. Otherwise GTFO.

Why? Just why? Why the hell would anyone—especially a Canadian”
