A fair amount of of Congress and Elections and most of politics are PR stunts by some metric. That doesn’t mean it completely lacks meaning.

Human rights abuses are far more important than our toys
Blizzard is an American company that Americans can do something about.
> I don’t want politics or political agendas invading entertainment
Damn man, if the boot tastes that good do you mind sharing some?
You miss the entire point of Congress if you think a law needs to have been broken first.
Blizzard also suspended “American University” - a collegiate Hearthstone team, for also voicing their opinions on this whole thing.
I’m fairly certain a couple of senators writing a joint letter to Blizzard hasn’t derailed any other activities.
You know, when news of this first broke someone on here mentioned that we should all write our representatives, and I said that would do nothing since no laws were broken. Apparently I was incredibly in the wrong there. So, my bad.
At best, this whole thing has raised awareness of the plight of Hong Kong, which is good, but at worse it’s done nothing to actually change what will happen in Hong Kong, but has caused an absolute fallout in the west in regards to Blizzards reputation and gamers, and games in general.
All the publicity at the very least maybe helps at least ONE company stopping always caving in to China’s demands (which now encroach into international space too where they try to ban and censor anything they don’t like) - just look at how China in recent years tried to bully companies such as Marriott, Svarovski,…
Two more weeks till BlizzCon...what a complete shitshow that’s going to be...
I feel awful for all the developers, who had nothing to do with any of this and who have been working their asses off on new projects and updates to existing titles that are going to have all their work ridiculed, ignored, and sidelined…
Too late for that dickheads. If they’d have changed their minds before the obvious backlash it caused then maybe it could be viewed as remotely sincere. But now it’s blatantly obvious it’s to reduce revenue loss and BlizzCon being a complete debacle. What a shit show... did I miss if his reinstated prize money is on…
The point isn’t that a company is involved with China. The point is that blizzard is kissing China’s ass and punishing a player for breaking rules that were broad and ultimately hypocritical on blizz’s part, like not taking action against the american team that expressed similar sentiments. If a clothing company or…
When invalid analogies are levied as tractable arguments: a study.
It’s hard to believe that this compromise attempt (literally just cut their actions in half) is something that took a full week to cook up. If it was really “Oh this is just the rules in all situations” you would think it would be quickly adjusted. Feels more like an offering in the hopes of getting the chatter to die…
To shove some words into Blizzard’s mouth: “Oh, we had no idea it would bite us in the ass like this! Why are you people so sensitive about it? We still have to do something to appease China, but we’ll give him back most everything! Will you guys go back to just playing our games and giving us your wallets pretty…
try being a girl and getting called a stupid bitch or cunt every 2 matches...that community is toxic as fuck, you aint fooling anyone....
