That requires getting behind it though. If it gets close enough to you to put a rocket in it’s differential, it’s probably close enough to kill you...and now it’s dead in the water right next to you.

I don’t think anything smaller than a 2000lb laser guided bomb could stop this thing. What would a TOW or Kornet do to it - knock a wheel off or damage the engine? You need something bigger.
The Chinese swamped US military forces at Chosin Reservoir - the North Korean Army were beaten and essentially driven out of their own country before then Chinese joined the war.
You would need hundreds or thousands of them, and lots and lots of ammunition to have a chance of shooting down that much incoming ordinance.
I’m convinced it’s to make them look taller.
I’m going to guess its an optical illusion from a fish eye lens.
Military electronics aren’t necessarily state of the art, ultra sophisticated bits of tech mechanically or even electrically. Most military and aerospace electronics use tried and true components that consumer-grade electronics haven’t used for years because they’re proven and reliable - and since military equipment…
That’s really cool, but a 2.0L turbo Ecotec from a wrecked Solstice would give a few more style points. An Ecotec probably more trouble than it’s worth though.
Former avionics engineer here. Can confirm that everyone we made was tested to withstand lightning hits. I wish I could recall the MIL-STD we used, but all of the civilian stuff was tested per DO-160.
That’s pretty cool, but $400+ for a full tune is a bit much when I’m just trying to unf*ck the transmission programming. I’ll keep it in mind though.
Cheers to you for preserving it! Most cars that old and cheap get crushed, especially when the motor is toast. If it wasn’t for wrench turning enthusiasts like you, cars like that wouldn’t exist and the world would be a little poorer for it.
If you strip off all of the emissions gear, you have a kickass drivetrain in a light and agile car. You just have to find one that hasn’t rusted into oblivion, rust proof the crap out of it, and rock and roll.
I’m going to be honest - I don’t like that, but I’m really glad some still exist because they’re certainly unique. Good job keeping an obscure piece of history alive.
Who tunes them? I’m nearly out of the powertrain warranty, so that’s tempting.
