So I could sleep, read the news or a book, or communicate with friends/family on my commute rather than micromanage a car though dense traffic.

You’re good. Pity I didn’t type slower!

Can anyone tell from the pictures below (approximately) what size ship it is? At first I thought it was one of their larger frigates, but now I’m thinking its a smaller patrol craft. A smaller craft would have no CIWS, and the size of the explosion would suggest the missile was an anti-tank munition, like a TOW or

The Mazda 5 was great, except that it’s second generation was beaten to near death with an ugly stick. I think if Mazda had styled it better, it would have slowly grown it’s market share rather than dropping dead.

The piping and elaborate door panels, on the other hand, is the best kind of retro.

This kind of retro can stay in the ‘60s. It just doesn’t work on modern cars.

To me, this picture always looked like an oblique shot out of one of the side windows. You’re probably right that they were probably attacking with the nose armament, but I can just see the tail or turret gunner taking pot shots at the Me323 as they orbited it.

I love the caption for this picture (from Wikipedia):

The Browning Hi-Power - such a slim and ergonomic handgun, even toddlers find it easy to shoot. I bet he didn’t have to worry about hammer bite.

Considering how poorly the SyAAF has performed during the current civil war, I wouldn’t trust them to hit a supertanker, let alone a small and relatively innocuous yacht.

You must be thinking of the ‘Girlfriend’. The ‘Fiance’ is typically pretty reliable, though if it isn’t, hope that you find out before the bumper-to-bumper engagement expires.

I’ve got one of those. Hard to find, a touch expensive to maintain, resale so bad I’d have to pay to get rid of, but fun and nice to look at.

This makes me think of a Bell P-39/P-63 taken to it’s (irrational) end.

I’m going to be honest - I didn’t know these were still being produced.

I’ve been meaning to go to the Simeone for a few years now - my old boss regularly told me how nice the place is and how I should visit it, but I never did. Pity I’m not on Twitter and following @DougDemuro, otherwise I could have seen an (internet) famous car in the flesh.

Doug is ~26, which puts him a few months older than I am. I, too, felt inadequate about my life choices when I found this out.

I’m curious how much force it would take to set off that ERA. If the tank tumbled off onto the road or rocks, would it have triggered some of the blocks?

This poor Typhoon looked like he was going to stall in the video. I’m curious what speed it and the Spitfire were flying at.
