It’s only ok if you buy it ironically and then blog about it, like a certain no-pants-wearing Philadelphia resident we all know and love.

Alternatively, if the seizure was not sanctioned at the highest levels of Iran’s government, then maybe it is a sign of a fracture forming between the country’s political leadership and its hard-line military leadership.

I don’t know for sure, but the Farragut might be the only DDG in the Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf. While I’m sure there is a carrier strike group in the area, it might be out in the Arabian Sea.

Is that the radar required to guide the missile, or are they fire and forget once launched in (roughly) the right direction?

That’s the story of modern America, in a nut shell.

You probably have to order one, and I suggest you do soon because I can’t imagine that option will make it past the end of the model year.

Aftermarket exhaust? I bet it sounds good, but what happened to the original one?

I don’t see a crater near the aircraft, which makes me think it was a fuel spill or something similar. Of course, it could just be full of water/foam/debris.

Do these things have depth charge launchers or do they roll the charges off the stern like was done during the First World War?

Sadly no :-(

And impact-rated eye protection.

Thank for actually reading my comment AND looking at the annotation in the picture.

This. I hate Return of the Jedi for the Ewoks, but the space combat scenes are amazing. There’s nothing cooler than dogfights in and around Imperial Star Destroyers.

That’s what the gates stopping traffic are for.

Can anyone make out what these are? I’d guess Spitfires or Hurricanes, like in the picture below, but it’s hard to tell.
