I guess this gives more reason to drop the money for Motor Trend streaming. I really enjoyed a few of their YouTube shows but going from $0 to $60/yr meant I just punted on watching.
You drove with dirthead Fred? Cool! I used to really enjoy his show until motor trend out it behind a paywall
i, too, saw the photo and thought this was a ford article
Does the hatch glass open independently of the hatch itself, or is just the whole hog? I really enjoy this feature on my E46 wagon
The best rule of thumb is to avoid anything with a CVT. Nissan, Gen-1 Mini, Subaru - I have yet to hear of any of these consistently lasting. My first gen mini crapped out at 140k (cvt completely shot).
This was good, but you forgot about the part at the beginning where 20 shady guys run between all the cars stealing the former owner’s personal effects and then retrieve their deposit and leave before the bidding starts

B6 S4: Plastic timing chain tensioners WILL fail. Oh, and they’re on the back of the motor, nestled against the firewall, so you need to pull the motor to change $70 worth of parts, lest ye drop a valve.
Guess who dropped a valve?
Possibly a stupid question, but how does it compare to the RR Sport? They seem to be nearly the same size with the same engine options sans V8, and you can get the disco similarly-equipped for a lot less dough, per my perusal of the online configurator.

I’d probably go one gen earlier - nearly impossible to find an E36 M3 without hastily-wired angel eyes and a variety of dubious “performance” mods
There’s one in Pittsburgh on I376 approaching the city that’s about 2 truck-lengths long before you get a face full of water barrels. I’ve never seen anyone use it, but boy, I bet it’s a wild (albeit short) ride.
pretty good
condemned to grayness for all of eternity
The infamous 2004 (B6) S4.
They're very well known in the BMW community in the USA, which is the only real audience for this car anyway.
