I’m a little befuddled as to the reason I am receiving these hostile responses. I was responding to a commenter who responded to a commenter on the thread. If you wish to complain that someone’s first response was to correct grammar, then perhaps you might redirect to the commenter who began the thread.

There’s a long history of using “they” as a singular pronoun and we actually already use it in a lot of grammatical contexts. An average English-speaking person can already use it in the singular really easily, especially if they don’t think about it. <- for example.

Hell, if this is the story of where Hulk and Thor were during Civil War...imagine the gut punch when they get back from their wacky space adventure to find Rhodes in the hospital, half their buddies on the lamb, and Tony/Steve not on speaking terms.

I’m pretty sure that just the two Thor movies and the first Avengers will give you more than enough context for this film. And not carry the risk of a blood clot from all that sitting.
