what im getting from this is that in order to see more behind the scenes footage of game development and a better understanding on how triple a games are produced, we need to generate takes so nightmarishly bad that developers will have no choice but to dunk on them

Only Prinsloo comes out looking good in this. Unless she is claiming some kind of strong arming here, I don’t see how she was “manipulated”. She wasn’t working for him. He has no direct power over her beyond his fame and it’s her choice to be blinded by his assholery or not. Stroh is 23, she knows what marriage is and

Who could have guessed THAT guy was a douchebag?

I mean other than his look, “music”, vibe, when he speaks, how he conducts himself in public, etc. What were the signs?!

I can’t stop laughing when imagining that internal discussion Levine would have had before sending a message like that.

And yet this seems like the inevitable Adam Levine gossip that was always going to happen.

“I took the fun out of making video games,” is a line I remember whenever Activision/Blizzard does something stupid like this.

The last time they did a graphical update on this game was for the PS3 called Tales of symphonia chronicles. That came with both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia 2 (Dawn of the New World). Why are we getting short changed in both frame rate and games?

That was my thought as well. While I’m definitely not averse to buying a shorter game, with Game Pass it means you’re not just immediately jumping into a sprawling million hour thing. After finishing something that takes 100 hours the last thing I want is to leap into another game that long, I want a couple 5 hour

I don’t know why we’re treating it as a fact that people won’t buy short games. I am MORE likely to buy short games. I love games, and I love getting lost in them, but also, I have other things to do, and if a game I’m interested in is going to take me 50 hours, I’m less likely to pick it up, because do I really want

How Long To Beat is one of the best things honestly, I am generally very very close ot the estimate of main + extra, it’s surprisingly good

Not really. It isn’t just a single number. It says the estimated time to beat 1) Main Story 2) Main Story + Extras and 3) Completionist. For Skyrim, those numbers are: 34 hours, 109 hours, and 239 hours

Yeah, for pretty much every game that catches my eye, I’ll search on HLTB or CTRL+F for completion time in pre-release reviews. But that’s because I prize short-to-medium games and only play a few especially long ones (especially 100 hr.-plus games) a year. It’s far from the only deciding factor, but if I’m on the

I’m kind of surprised that the article only covers the use case of buying games, and doesn’t address the more obvious demographic that this actually benefits: Game Pass subscribers.

Skyrim’s a good choice for the picture to point out the absurdity of it. I recently started another playthrough, as I had never fired up the Special Edition. Steam says I’m nearly 80 hours in, and I have yet to visit High Hrothgar (those who know, know).

“Are all-time classics like Firewatch, Day Of The Tentacle, or ABZÛ worth less because they’re under six hours?”

I’m happy to have this integrated. Visiting HLTB was usually one of the first things I did after finding a new game anyway. I know I’m not in the majority but honestly shorter games appeal to me more than longer games and seeing that something might have a main + extra playtime of 6-15 hours is a boon in my book.

I don’t use it a lot, but what I’ve learned is that I am slower than everyone who reports statistics there. I generally need to take the average completionist time and increase it by 50% to get my actual time to beat.

I’ve used HowLongToBeat for a while now and all I need to know is that I’m sometime longer than average because I take things a little slower, or get into trouble a lot of places, and am a semi-completionist. But otherwise I generally trust HowLongToBeat’s data.

This doesn’t surprise me. I’ve met Ernie Gygax and he came off as an out of touch old asshole riding on his “famous” dads coat tails.

Well, if this is in any way comparable to Tsushima, I am all over it.
