The problem is that apparently there is no level scaling or similar mechanism in the game so allowing the Arceus catching mechanic would mean you could just run around till you find a Level 70 Pokemon, catch it just by sneaking and then run through all gyms with no problem and complain about the game being too casual…

Yeah this type of stuff can backfire horribly, not work at all and/or not even be noticed by the majority of players. The first game had so many fun movement options (jumping, throwing (DK), tubes, sliding) that I really look forward to what they do now that they aren’t anymore tied to a grid-based system.

I mean when the Studio director and the marketing guy can’t really explain what makes Redfall different from L4D it either means that RedFall is totally like L4D or that the game is still so far away from completion that they can’t really say yet what the final product will be.

The basic gameplay (speed and jumping) seem to be alright. I hope they take their time and try to incorporate the parkour stuff better into the world because it really just looks like someone copy and pasted the parkour elements into that grassland world.
