As someone who has taught history for almost 20 years in 3 states, I can tell you she’s a horrible teacher sight unseen. Your kids should never be able to figure out for whom you voted. Your job is to teach them to think critically and present them with primary sources so that they can draw their own conclusions and

It’s really annoying to see that people are on here every week complaining that SNS is being posted too late for a lot of us to participate, but nothing ever gets done about it. The 7:00PM Eastern post time seemed to be standard up until a few months ago, now it just seems to go up whenever someone feels like it.

I live on the east coast, and the whole 9:30/10:00PM start means that I will never be at Saturday Night Social (already at Saturday Night Netflix with DH by that time) and it will always be Sunday Morning After for me. It used to start at 6:30/7:00, but lately not so much.....🙄

This is really weird and why are you describing her as freshed face?

Most Academy voting members are just like most of the general public when comes to election time: they don’t take their responsibilities seriously.

Thanks fam. Only reason to come to lifehacker anymore is commentators like you.

Black pain is delightful for wypipo to watch and they delight in celebrating these narratives with accolades apropos of the pain available for consumption.

I find myself continually amazed by this new passive-aggressive “we didn’t even watch it” iteration of the regular old racism. They’re behaving like the Trumps behave, sitting in the corner pouting like eight-year-olds complaining that they’re being “forced” to consider an alternative to always centering themselves

I wonder if those people consider Rosemary’s Baby real cinema. Or Wait Until Dark. Or Silence of the Lambs. Or Misery. Or The Birds. Except, oh right, those movies are made by white people for white audiences.

How many fucking films can there be about Churchill? And every time the actor is lauded. Oldman will probably just be handed the Oscar.

I don’t think it will win and I kind of hate that genre of movies but I was really pleasantly surprised by Dunkirk.

Right? “The Silence of the Lambs” is totally side eyeing them right now.

(And, by the way, that’s one of the few Best Picture winners that still holds up, over 20 years later. “Get Out” will still hold up 20 years from now, too.)

I’m not sure about comedies, but to this day, no horror movie has won an Oscar for Best Picture and all of the ones nominated in various categories had been made by white directors. You might make the case that Silence Of The Lambs could be seen as a horror movie, but it’s more in the Crime/Thriller category for me.

“If they’re deducing that much, you should sue your employer for fraud since they’re passing on the entire bill’s credit card fee onto you.”

Best damn country singer of all time, that’s what.

Does anyone actually have control over 401k plan fees? I’m not talking about fund fees, but I feel helpless to impact my employer sponsored plan. It’s a family owned company, so very few in management have business or accounting degrees.

Thank you thank you thank you

I wholly support servers’ right to under-report their tips. They get treated like shit and paid like shit. Meanwhile, the 1% and every corporation in the country is evading left and right, but it’s the person who makes $3 an hour that everybody is getting all up in arms about.

I love all the “How dare you evade taxes!” comments.

Ah yes, but imagine if you were an engineer and bad at those things, and it’s not part of your job... and yet because you’re female the rest of the office expects you to do these things anyway.
