I think sometimes you just have to a acknowledge that a mystery is far, far more enticing than the explanation. I don’t think this one really needs an explanation and being able to say “It’s God’s plan” gives them the ultimate (if annoying) get out clause.

I don’t think the problem was with how effective the Dragon was this week but how utterly ineffective and vulnerable they have been in certain previous episodes. 

I’m pretty sure Arya’s whole thing this episode was to really hammer home that she is done with the revenge and killing. I hope they don’t bugger THAT up.
