I've got to say, I very much preferred her when she pretending to be Mary Poppins to when she was being lovable 'common as muck' barmaid. I just found her a bit overpowering in general, like she trying way to hard to appeal to the audience.

I've got to say, certain characters go to the next level with their particular moment of greatness, particularly Ripley with "Get away from her, you bitch!!" and the "Gaze into the fist of Dredd!!" thing.

Well, looking at the descriptions in this article, one seems to be describing the universe and the other appears to be describing a response to it. They sure as hell don't seem mutually exclusive.
