I am very taken with Ignatiy. As far as I'm concerned he put the Shyam in the Shyamalangadingdong.

Maybe if you're young and stand close enough to the director.

It always befuddled me that no one made more noise about this. Coppola was not only involved with him, but basically saved his career.

I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, but no one's tried it, so you don't know that.
So many late night shows and they're all the same. I'd rather listen to a 2 hour podcast interview with one guest. So maybe if you had someone engaging interview an interesting subject for an hour, people like me would tune in,

Given the popularity of long-form podcasts right now, I'm surprised that someone hasn't tried to buck the trend on late night. One of Ferguson's most enjoyable shows was when he just interviewed Stephen Fry for 35 minutes.

But let's maybe judge it after a good few episodes?
cf. Seinfeld, Blackadder, Parks and Rec, Craig Ferguson

Stop regurgitating this nonsense that it's an enormous flop. It cost $6m, it's already grossed $3.4m in the US alone. This will be in the black in the long-run, which is what studios look at.
Opening weekend gross is a marketing tool and I wish we'd all just grow up*

He inadvertently might. I've heard that Yahoo is most likely going to stop all original production.

What's with all the faith-based movies? Fuck that.
Wake me up when Green Room is finally out. Or The Witch.

Ridley Scott also has a cloth-ear for humor which causes me concern with this script, which was pretty funny.

You might want to wind back a little on Everest….because apparently it's not terribly good.

Yeah, I kinda liked the original Goonies 2 idea of having them be the children of the original cast.
But on the whole, I've decided to be a-ok with any remakes. If it's bad, then no one remembers it (Nightmare on Elm Street) and if it's good, you get 2 good movies, and the good remake always helps to publicize the

Without wanting to sound like a douche, this is mostly true. But the reboots in consideration are Gremlins and Goonies (sequel/reboot etc).
Dreamworks is moving back to being Amblin, rather than a wannabe studio. I assume this is something to do with Spielberg's age.

Probably true of most actors though. A lot of the dross goes unnoticed. As someone said, it's a miracle that any film gets made, let alone gets made and is good.

…..and became a joke about how old he was in the subsequent movies.

Yep, he's too old. Broccoli will want at least 5 movies out of the next Bond. Even Craig was older than they wanted the new Bond to be. Which sadly also rules out Fassbender who was once in the running.

After 'We Are Your Friends' he's back on board.

Absolutely. It's incredibly well made. I always felt there was something darkly wrong with that movie, deep down. It just feels 'off' somehow, and it's all the more terrifying for it.
You now how when sometimes a director will film someone walking backwards and then reverse the footage, and you can't really work out

Kermode is currently championing Zac Efron (and his dead-eyed stare) as the embodiment of an entertainment superstar, so I'd advise listening to him with some salt close at hand.

Cox is Scottish.
Hopkins isn't though 'downplaying his accent' as the article says, he has a New England accent. Hopkins said he was channeling Katherine Hepburn.
