I will partially agree with someone who said earlier that "nobody wants to see those photos" and append that nobody wants to see ALL of them! Pick a few of the best and upload to Flickr (favorite!), Yahoo Photos, Kodak/Ofoto, Photoworks, Shutterfly (etc!), or if your feeling froggy, install Gallery on a webserver

@katana - get laughed at! If it works for you, do it! I work with a bunch of guys at a relatively conservative and 'normal' office. I got up the nerve to use an exercise ball as a chair a couple of years ago and have never looked back! Now I alternate between the ball and the chair (because the ball got so easy that I

I don't understand something—if a hangover is dehydration aggravated by lost electrolytes, then why does more alcohol help? Isn't there a withdrawal aspect to the hangover as well?

oh! Lifehackers, ze frank, and Dan Rather?! /faint I so hope I can make it...

hey - any chance you're going to get some hoodies, what with it getting cold and all? :)

I always use Thanks, whether I'm making a request or just talking. At the very least it's a thanks for opening the email in the first place. Sometimes they get it in all caps if they've been extra nice or helpful. And sometimes they get a smiley with that too, and I don't care if that's professional or not... you lose

I'm sticking with my original thoughts: Lifehacker already has a slogan - please just use what you've got. "Lifehacker: Don't live to geek; geek to live."

re: adblocking - I would think a site like Lifehacker would not have ads on it that are NSFW... I mean, don't most of us read this AT work?

I'm not able to do it, probably because I am going into the command line from start->run-> cmd .... but how else do you get there anymore? I remember exiting windows in DOS/Win3.11, but I don't know in WinXP...

//begin old geezer voice

oOH... I wouldn't buy most of these shirts. I would buy a shirt that says "Lifehacker: Don't live to geek; geek to live."

@jmco - I was just about to say that! We are going through some kind of phase where everybody wants professional equipment - WHY? Unless you *are* a professional, and know how to use that stuff, then why get it? Honestly, I am using a years-old 2.1MP Sony Cybershot and it works great for what I do (mostly taking pics

@Lactoso, well, that kinda depends on what kind of blogs ya read. ;)

@infmom - if your boss is that psycho it's time to start the job hunt.

One thing I do that's similar to this is to make a Word window/document background for my RSS feeds. I can read Lifehacker all day (not that I would *all* day) and make it look like I'm working on a Word doc... I use Firefox with the Sage extension, and there's a separate CSS file for feeds - you can customize it

Aw, man... What a tease - based on your first image, I thought one of those was going to be an historical map mash-up. That would be excellent. Cool other maps anyway. I'll have to take a look.

How do we get a signed copy? I would love it if I could get Gina and Pals to sign it for me... :)

I use paytrust.com, which will receive all my paper bills and email me with the amounts. I love this service because it turns my bills that insist on coming via paper into electronic bills. I prefer it to the bill services available through checking accounts, because I never receive any bills at my house.

I really like your [todo.sh] and have started using it. I'm just a bit perplexed about the "project list" — where do you keep that? If I only use the [todo.txt] project listing, some projects might fall through the cracks if I don't have a next action for them, point of th project list being (if I got it right) to

oh, poo.. and since it doesn't work from rss feeds (it only imports the individual products), then you have to update at Amazon *AND* at gifthat...
