I would love it if it would really accept multiple wishlists. Right now it only imports your Amazon wishlist, and you have to add other items one at a time. If you have other wishlists, it seems like you should be able to add the link (or the link to the RSS, like on Thinkgeek) and GiftHat should add all those items

I usually just hang in there until they ask me to leave. :)

Anytime you can make the numbers in the combination mean something, or discover some sort of pattern, you can remember it. I had a combination once that was 12-38-24. I remembered that 12 was the base. 38 was (12*3)+2, and 24 was 12*2. Sort of a pattern, so it's easier to remember. I do like the idea of writing clues

I'm still not sure why I'd want to go beyond notepad and blogger, but then I am a simple person, with a simple blog. :)

abiograd's point number 1 above is dead on. That is something that everyone needs to learn to avoid debt in the future.

I agree with dep - that method works for my 4-yr-old, too. ;)

My strategy? I just walk the heck on out. All that work is still going to be there in the morning. My work is important, but it's not life or death (unlike some people I know - like doctors).

I make my own trail mix. I put in whatever snacky things I have in the pantry: raisins, cashews, pretzels, my daughter's golfish crackers or teddy grahams, etc. That way I have my own personalized trail mix with stuff I like, and I don't have to avoid the peanuts* and M&M's in the trail mix from the vending machine.

Hey Eugene - I think I can help you with your gas mileage: downsize from your 8cyl back to a 4cyl! ;) I'm sure you're right about not noticing the AC lag in an 8cyl, because it has more power than necessary to pull a car around - and plenty to spare for AC.

Anyone who doesn't believe that the AC steals your mpg, try this: go up a big hill, and about halfway up, WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR, turn on your AC. Wait for the lurch. Wait another minute, then turn it back off. When the AC is on, the engine has less power... when it's off, it has more.

I would have voted for Remote Desktop, if it had been an option - using this built in Windows feature is almost as good as having a laptop. It has been a lifesaver for me lately... but it was a trick I already knew before this poll.

I thought shoelaces were passé... I wear flops, clogs, Birkenstocks, and other sandals, but rarely anything with laces anymore.... which, frankly, is faster than the fastest knot! :)

holy cow! I had no idea about this stuff! This is like a whole new world of bargain shopping! THANKS, LIFEHACKER!

@Andy - yeah! That's how we used to eat them when I was a kid in the Caribbean... That's the portable no-knife method for kids walking home from school, who have to pass by a mango tree. :)

I love Word's edit-tracking feature... it works pretty well, at least for only a couple of edits. If you want to do more, with lots of collaboration, it seems like a perfect excuse to use a wiki. (And I'm all over wikis lately - http://pbwiki.com - you can really use wikis for anything.)

why do you have to snap off the stem?

I've never really understood why kickstands went out of fashion. I had a kickstand installed on my bike last year because it kept getting scratched up and knocked over, and even bent the deraileur once... And I have not regretted it. Everybody in the bike club thinks I'm a dork, but I'm the dork that doesn't have to

very nice tour - thanks Gina. Also, I love that your computer is named Scully. :D

I actually laughed out loud when I read that bit about opening the windows at night. I would love to stay somewhere during the summer where this is possible! It's as much as 85 degrees here at night during the summer! But, that is cooler than 100...

If we're talking about tap water - if you generally trust your tap water anyway, then I don't see the problem in letting it sit out in the sun for a few hours. Where exactly is this bacteria supposed to be coming from, anyway? Spontaneous generation? I do understand that you would not necessarily want to do this with
