Often in even more grinding poverty as a result is my guess. Especially since the poor are much more likely to live in food, financial, and other vital service deserts. And often have to travel far to poorly transit-serviced areas for their employment.

What makes it late stage is the fact that companies like Epic and Uber don’t just do this as a temporary measure - losing money becomes the business model. And yet the companies retain high market value regardless.
