Which is why most (all?) the competitors are not marketing their LiDAR systems as fully autonomous systems. But camera-based tech is no closer to achieving full autonomy. “Tesla isn’t there yet” is a yuuuuuge understatement.

I totally agree, from a consumer standpoint. I just question whether the manufacturers would buy into the concept. In their short sighted view I imagine they wouldn’t see it as in their best (read: financial) interests.
