I was hoping someone would post this.

This story appeared on my facebook feed with a “Good dolphin” byline. A long time ago, The Score (can’t remember the station number) in Chicago would have Coach Ditka on a few times a week to answer questions from callers. So he’s on one day and a regular caller named, “Dolphin Mike” comes on, and this approximate

He’s the anti-Tuffy Rhodes. This is a good thing. Next year is now.

He’s the worst kind of crook; the one that claims some sort of moral high ground via a public persona, like wearing a sweater vest or perfecting the “aw shucks” style of storytelling.

They don’t call enough fouls right now. The true problem with men’s college basketball is every game looks like Pistons/Bulls circa 1989 with the Jordan Rules in full effect. The NBA got rid of all the hand-checking and it’s a better game for it. The NCAA could reduce the shot clock to 20 seconds, but it won’t

For the record, I think college football & basketball players deserve some sort of compensation above what they are getting at present. College football & basketball are effectively professional leagues with excess profits because they don't have to pay their labor. Some of the good things about this are schools can

I agree.

This would be the most honest approach, but would cripple a lot of small towns economies that rely on college sports at this point.

All other sports cease to exist. There are some programs that are profitable (Tennessee women's basketball, LSU baseball), but there aren't enough to have meaningful leagues without subsidies. I know the NCAA takes a lot of heat, and deservedly so, but for all of the revenue they generate, they redistribute about 85%

Good point about opportunity cost. The appropriate action would be (assuming the age restriction is nuked) would be to expand the number of draft rounds and send more draftees to the D-League. The age restriction has really saved the NBA from itself as there were just way too many teams taking flyers on unproven kids

What a Shump-show.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.

I have a minimalist shoe from New Balance and a pair of Hokas. I'm a casual runner and my normal route is about 7k, twice a week. I run with better form in the minimalist New Balance and typically feel better after running in those than the Hokas. I'm faster in the Hokas, and should note I don't feel bad after running

A tradition unlike any other: The Hawkeyes trotting out some goon just to take 5 hard fouls and hit the shower.

They should call 'em "floories".

I don't know, it sounds like Jones set it up to look like he was going pro (cryptic tweet earlier in the day, presser at his high school instead of Columbus). He should have gone full-troll and put on Ohio State headgear while leaving the Raiders, Bucs, & Jets hats on the table.

I know, write?!

Does anyone think the ACC officials were possibly protecting FSU, who is the league's best chance for a playoff appearance? I'd feel a better about that question if the officials were employed by the NCAA and not the ACC.

I agree completely. However, scholarship reductions and monetary fines ring hollow. The appropriate NCAA action would have been to kick Penn State out, and let the re-apply when the adults running PSU had their house in order. However, I don't think the adults in charge of college sports have any interest in doing the
