Making such a change mid-season would purely be to artificially close the gap between Mercedes and the other teams. End of season changes are fine, but we have enough shit with this championship after some arse decided a random double points race would be a great idea.

For the most part, I'm not too interested, but I did like the original concept that started all this, that ridiculous Red Bull Racing prototype that looked like a cross between LMP1 and F1. The idea of a race car created with no restrictions is too awesome for me to ignore.

What Porsche/VW should do just for fun is drop the Beetle sheet metal on a 911 Turbo or GT3 chassis. Add Martini or Gulf livery and we have a winner.
