Makes me a little bit sad that you're getting rid of the S52, but I'd say the LS2 is the best non-BMW motor to drop in. I also have to admit that I'm a bit jealous...that's going to be a dangerously awesome car. I hope you post some vids of that one day :)

I'm sure diskettes weren't cheap in 1987, either. Sending these out to potential customers was probably quite an investment on Buick's part.

we're always ripping on celebs for throwing away money like it's nothing on cars, parties, planes, houses, and court trials...but one director is using his money to actually film and collect data while risking his life at a spot on Earth that nobody has been to since 9 years before the moon landing, and everybody's

...which costs more than the submarine.

I see nothing wrong with his films. Michael Bay, on the other hand...

and/or be uncomfortable and awkward to sit in.

Dr. Cox's father sets oil prices?

Haha the Tornado...I remember the TV demonstrations with motor homes...

Damn...no faith in humanity.

WTF...$45K for that??! Wow, Nissan has really fallen out of touch with reality if they believe that could sell. There will always be a few idiots that'll buy anything, but I can't imagine the returns outweighing all of the investment (in R&D, tooling, etc).

Who said get rid of family-sized vehicles? Because I told the little blonde woman with one spoiled brat to hang it up with the QX56?

I had to doublecheck the URL to make sure this whole thing wasn't a static image. Only about 4 of what look like should be links actually do something.

None that are worth a damn.

Half of my commute is on the turnpike. I fill up about once a week, or every 280-ish miles of mixed city and highway. It was a huge difference switching from my old E34 525i that got about 24mpg on the highway.

If more expensive gas means less tailgate-happy assholes in their bro-trucks, or inattentive trophy wives hulking around in house-sized SUVs while on the phone...fine by me.

My Florida homeowner's insurance premium shot from $2600 to $4400 per year. We haven't had a major hurricane in 6 years. I'm sure I'm an extreme case, but it's happening all over Florida and definitely not helping the economy. A major hurricane would really screw us at least two-fold.

Yeah I'm sure that was a pretty hurtful point to many of Jalop's readers. Maybe if we were the college-aged VWVortex forums, it'd be a bit easier to swallow moving from one leased apartment to the next with a pick-up truck's worth of belongings, but I'm pretty sure the majority of us are older...with families...and

I bought a small stucco house in a bland development about 25 miles from work, but because it's on the water and has a garage for my M3. Also, I treat myself to my E39 525i because I'm in traffic so much, but it gets 30mpg on the highway :D

Allo! I actually picked mine up for $6K two years ago. You're right about the depreciation, but who cares? Keep yours nice and maybe eventually...after all the trashed ones get weeded out...ours will be worth more again. And, if not, enjoy your ride anyway. The "best-handling car at any price" for $5K? ;)

reminds me of the baby owner's manual.
