It's worth mentioning that the "Derpy" fandom love the character dearly, not ironically or in a mean way. I'm not condoning the usage at all, just a thing I've observed from having a couple of friends in the fandom.

The difference being that bigots aren't a persecuted group of people. LGBT individuals face higher murder, suicide, rape, and abuse rates. "Tolerance" for us means people aren't killing us for being as we are born to be. So yeah, cry me a fucking river.
