The fact that companies have essentially abandoned giving us actual plugs anymore and expect us to provide our own adapters is getting to be a bit much -- especially for premium-priced products like this. I expect it from some $30 Echo Dot, but not a device I paid $200 for.

I would like these games so much more -- and actually be able to play them all -- if they weren’t all 50+ hours long.

“We’re still a very young company.” Fine, but you guys aren’t 7. You’ve all been on the internet. You know that comment sections and live chats are always shit shows. There is no excuse for being naïve enough to think that anything with a live chat option isn’t going to be 95% trolls and boundary-pushers.

Especially since Silent Hill 3 is essentially the follow up to Silent Hill 1. So if the Silent Hill 2 remake is successful enough to warrant subsequent remakes, they’re going to have to go back to SH1 and then jump to SH3. So it’s going to be very confusing to anyone who isn’t already familiar with the series which

Careful with saying that the NES “changed the world.” Our UK-based gamer pals get very, very upset when you imply that Nintendo affected any regions other than the U.S. and Japan. A lot of them operate under the assumption that the gaming industry would’ve rolled along just fine without Nintendo and the NES. I know,

To me, this smacks of a game that isn’t actually ENJOYABLE to play. Because if it were, these people would cut their losses and just say, “Well, that game was fun to play for a couple weeks, but if this is how it’s going to be then I’m bouncing.” I mean, I kind of suspected that a lot of these types of games aren’t

The amount of work they put into making sure those reward points are as impractical as possible to actually use is almost impressive. The list of exceptions and stipulations on those are unreal.

So there’s a “pay to win” aspect to an interactive TV show??? Oh lord...

As one of the 10 people who played Wanted: Dead, and am also a big Metal Gear Solid fan, I can’t believe I didn’t know until this article that Stefanie Joosten was also in Wanted: Dead as the police officer and also singer of the game’s bizarre songs.

My only real gripe is Peachette. Nobody even likes Toadette to begin with — and now we’re getting a Peach version?

They could’ve done another Tour-exclusive character instead, like Nabbit or the Hammer/Fire/Ice/Boomerang Bro. Or one of the remaining three legacy characters that have yet to be added to MK8: ROB, Honey

Do you think Mario regrets ditching Pauline for Peach once he saw her Mario Odyssey glow-up?

It’s been interesting watching the gaming community sour on Destiny at around the same time that Halo has managed to turn itself around and is regaining a lot of its lapsed fans.

Most of these games aren’t going to be played at peak level for years and years and years. The fact that so many developers/publishers are always so surprised, and seem to have no contingency plan for, when an online game’s user base begins to dwindle is beyond me.

You nailed it here. That’s what bugs me about this type of thing: It goes beyond just consenting adults doing whatever makes them happy as long as it isn’t hurting anyone. This is exploiting the type of people who develop unhealthy and mentally unbalanced obsessions with celebrities, crushes, etc and making a living

Oh I’m aware. As is anyone who actually knows anything at all about actual human bodies. But there was a WHOLE big backlash about it when they first showed how she was going to look in Remake. It’s summed up here: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/tifas-breast-size-change

It was the same with Lara Croft in the latest

That’s a safe bet with a lot of these types of people. It’s the same crowd that cried about how they supposedly made Tifa’s boobs “small” in FFVII Remake, not realizing that they simply gave her a sports bra and any women whose chest is still that impressive under a sports bra must have pretty huge knockers. But you

it isn’t good for nintendo. it only benefits this subculture. most people play smash bros. for a few weeks and forget about it.”

This. A bunch of people at a tournament playing a handful of copies of a game — if they’re even playing a retail game at all and not some modded PC version — doesn’t make Nintendo all that

To each their own, obviously. You should be able to enjoy a game however you want. But to me, this has always been my issue with the hyper-competitive Smash scene. They go through all this trouble to tweak the game in such a way -- sometimes to the point of modding it -- to make it that type of game, which tells me

Actually, Sonic Team has been godawful about that as well. The last new 2D Sonic game Sonic Team actually made was Sonic 4. Sonic Mania was made by someone else entirely.

I love how anyone who has a positive opinion about Nintendo on the internet is automatically labeled a blindly loyal fanboy.

I was born in 1981 so I “grew up with” Nintendo and Sega, thanks. But sure, please make more hugely sweeping generalizations about the kind of person I am and what I grew up with based on one
