Yup. Same here. It’s one of those cars that almost always forces a double take. “Is that a ... nope, Genesis. Nice though.” I have almost the same reaction with the new Infinitis.

At the end of the day, what stats aren’t arbitrary, other than “points scored?” Celebrating triple doubles is no less arbitrary than celebrating a 5 yards/rush average, .400 batting average or a no-hitter. It’s never the number itself that matters. In sports, at least, we tend to assign value to a thing because of…
I think your last paragraph explained the “Not My MVP” mentality perfectly. Some people (including many many sports reporters) just don’t like the guy. And preventing him from claiming an award he obviously deserves is a small, petty way of saying “fuck you.” People are looking for a not-Westbrook to vote for, and…
Welp, that sounds like a straight up win for you. Nice. Now I have to find someone with an 86 who will let me toss it around for a while so I can find out for myself.
$27,000 can get you a very nice used Cooper JCW. More horsepower, torque, and practicality than an 86 and far more uniqueness and sex appeal than any of the Golf kids. Its got smiles for miles. But yea, if RWD is just your thing, the 86 sounds like an awesome little toy.
That’s a difficult thing to define. You remember how U St. felt 10 years ago? And contrast that with how it feels today? Gallery Place feels like how U St. will probably feel 5 years from now. When I walk into a restaurant with a couple friends, there is often a subtle sense of “oh, lets seat them away from the…
I don’t really see why the national media would be to blame for lack of interest among the local population. Wouldn’t that fall on the local media? If you accept the idea that local fan support is a product of familiarity, it should on the hometown paper/radio/tv stations to create that familiarity.
Probably more accurate to say very little buy-in from the White community, but maybe that last part was implied. Black folks in DC do tend to rep the Wizards fairly hard, but not as hard as people from cities with traditionally successful teams. We don’t usually go to the Wizards’ games though because Gallery Place…
We always talk about who is the “Most Valuable Player” but we rarely ask “most valuable to whom?” Most valuable member of his team? Most valuable to the league as a whole? I think if we look back over the history of MVP winners, it’s pretty clear the award is for “most valuable to the league because we can televise…
A couple people on my team’s staff had previously worked for the Ravens and the consensus was that they treated people shitty and there was a lot of office politics. Also got the sense that it wasn’t a great office environment for women.
I worked briefly doing public relations for an NFL team. When I decided to look for opportunities elsewhere I was explicitly warned not to consider Washington, the Ravens, the Raiders, and the Bengals because of their disfunctional front offices. You could almost certainly add the Browns to that list as well.
I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. I’ll keep saying it until I speak it into existence. The NFL is doomed if it doesn’t seriously consider contraction. 32 teams is about 8 teams too many. There just aren’t enough NFL-calibur humans to fill that many rosters. So mediocre players command a king’s ransom while…
“A failed half season in New Orleans would certainly depress Cousins’s value a little bit, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the Pelicans ended up getting more than they gave up for him in this scenario.”
I couldn’t speak to the ES’s quietness, since I haven’t been in one in several years. But I’d be surprised if the Avalon wasn’t at least in the ballpark. It’s definitely a respectable understudy to the ES.
The ES is definitely a solid answer, but I would probably recommend an Avalon instead. Most of the same features available, lower price, less costly to insure, and less costly to fix when (not if) someone makes non-consensual contact with your car.
I’m really enjoying these tennis articles. Keep it up!
Am I the only one that sees a ninja turtle mouth on the Huracan?
If unbelted fatalities “don’t count,” would car companies even bother putting seat belts in cars? Keep in mind that the Big Three fought like hell in the 1970s to prevent seat belts from even being mandated as standard equipment. They threw gobs of cash at Reagan and the GOP to curtail the NHTSA, and were moderately…
So, I have one question. Why are we assuming Trump was unaware of Flynn’s Russia ties?
Not to mention that the GOP “masters” (aka “establishment”) fought like hell to prevent Trump’s ascension. They desperately wanted Jeb to win the primaries. Of all the adjectives I could use to describe Trump, “controllable” wouldn’t be one of them. He can only be controlled by his handlers at the Kremlin.
