wasn’t a long straightaway, but a tight curve
Personally I prefer the single cam Bugatti engines for their clean lines, but the twin cam ones are nice too
Dear God - what have they done to that top one! It’s hideous.
That song popped in to my head the moment I read MBTA! I know it’s MTA in the song.
It’s the power ramp-in that will kill it (and most likely the driver).
Have a look at the newest 6 videos on my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/stavers13…). Shows you some videos of an entire field of this era of car racing together.
Hmm. This is an interesting one. A lot of steel wheels now are actually lighter than alloy wheels. I know that on the Ford Fiesta EcoNetic they deliberately fitted it with steel wheels as they were lighter than all of the alloy wheels that were in the spec sheet!
I think the thing that is even worse than this is how the hell does an very good driver (007) in a very fast car (DBS) manage to lose enough time to an XJ such that he was a couple of (gentle) corners behind to them having enough time to slow down, carefully drop off a woman in the middle of the road, accelerate and…
A 7 series for $15k would need to be at least 1996 - not ‘86. Just too much money for a car of this age regardless of condition and mileage.
Very low fatality rate actually. In the past ~30 years of vintage car racing here in the UK there have been about 3 fatalities due to racing incidents.
Here you go - happens every year. I believe it even has this car and driver competing.
In some cases, they can get away with just running the FTP City and Highway tests.
Yup - just go to this website (http://iaspub.epa.gov/otaqpub/) and look for your car. Download the relevant files and it’s all in there.
Just seen this which is interesting...
Just to add to that - if you watch the video here (http://jalopnik.com/watch-the-28-5…) and go to about 43 seconds in you can see Duncan pumping with his left hand - this will be to get the fuel pressure up.
It’s called the Edwardian Race at VSCC Mallory. Every year we run a race where all cars are pre WWI and most have this sort of set-up (although not an engine this big!).
