I find it’s best to do that in any world, with everyone’s kid’s toys.

If I accept the premise of your question, probably the half that was also the director.
You people make me sick
Judas Priest! Just looking at that makes my balls crawl up into my torso out of terror!
I know this is going to be controversial, but I think that this show is good and enjoy watching it.
My dream casting for True Detective was and still is Michael Shannon essentially playing his character from Nocturnal Animals over the course of a whole season.
Mira Sorvino said that when she was harassed she thought she was the only one. So if even the victims themselves didn’t know there were other victims.....why do you think Meryl knew?
Something tells me that if there HAD been a real Luke/Kylo duel and Luke HAD gone out in a blaze of glory...these same fans would complain that it was too much of a retread of the Vader/Obi-Wan duel.
I get that...but it’s weird to blame TLJ for the way Luke is now. I mean, TFA was the one that basically said “oh, everything Luke accomplished? It was undone”
Snake’s throne room might be my single most favorite set in all of Star Wars. It’s simultaneously foreboding as fuck and stunning to look at.
Yeah, it’s a really cool little detail (well, that plus the feet, short hair and the lightsaber) that adds to the greatness of the scene. It seems to me like the point was the audience is essentially viewing things from Kylo Ren’s perspective and are so wrapped up in the drama of it (like he was) that they don’t…
Or even... Organaic?
...I’ll see myself out.
Luke’s comments on the failure of the Jedi in the prequels actually made me appreciate what George Lucas was trying to do with them as well. Even though that was my takeaway from the prequel trilogy to begin with, it was great to hear basically the most important character of the original trilogy acknowledge it. It…
I dont want to get into the whole “JJ and Rian didnt work together on the story” bit because that seems muddy right now but..
The reveal about Rey’s backstory is absolutely the most satisfying answer they could have possibly given us, precisely because it’s unsatisfying to Rey.
“You can’t make a star wars movie and just toss in some mysterious and all powerful evil force man and never even ONCE allude to where this guy came from.”

I think Carrie was always willing to admit that she could be a little snarky. We don’t need to pretend otherwise just because she’s dead.
He didn’t say anything about the content. His point was that it would be too much pressure. A sequel to a more minor franchise would presumably be much less pressure.
TFA is a few plot tweaks away from being fantastic, I would say. It all depends on the story seen in its entirety, which isn’t something that we can gauge from trailers, but if TLJ has all of TFA’s good qualities with a better complete, more original story, it can be great.
