Elon is bad but Jeff Bezos is the evil billionaire who scares me most. Bezos just fired all the honest journalists at the Washington Post. He intends to turn the Post into a MAGA propaganda rag. It’ll be just like Twitter only a hundred times more dangerous because the Washington Post brand has the prestige and

This is fantastic.

Ten minutes ago I found out Jalopnik was sold to Static Media. Jalopnik was never my main Kinja hangout as I am more interested in politics and tomato trolling than cars, but it was comforting to know that one Kinja commenting forum still existed. I expect that will be ending soon. Sad.

I keep hearing Elon is a visionary financial genius, so why hasn’t he bought Jalopnik and the Kinja system?

That’s an interesting comparison but I doubt anyone at Jalopnik has more than a vague remembrance of Crystal Jewell, if they remember her at all.  You could be the only Jalopnik poster who even remembers Crystal’s name.

Paste ported over the Jezebel comments from 2022 onwards, so you can view your comments from that era. Here is a preserved example of you commenting on a Crystal Jewell thread.

I agree wholeheartedly. Jezebel and Splinter never should have been removed from Kinja. Huge blunder by Paste, and one that can be corrected by purchasing the Kinja system from Great Hill. It can’t be expensive.

It seems Paste management may have perceived the wisdom of leaving AV Club on Kinja. My hope is that Paste acquires Kinja and implements commenting on all the Paste sites.  Despite its known flaws, Kinja is a vastly superior commenting platform to the WordPress dreck that Paste currently uses for Jezebel and Splinter.

Elon is right. I’m a proud RFK Jr. supporter and I can’t tell you how many Democrats have taken me aside at social occasions and privately told me they agree with ALL of Jr.’s tweets, but they’re scared of the professional and personal consequences of liking the tweets. People who have shaky marriages tell me they

Don’t worry, McTurtle won’t be around much longer.

Yes, you can follow commenters and be followed. Also there are numerous bots that follow older accounts. Never seen an account of your vintage that didn’t have a long list of bot followers.

You’ve been posting since 2012 and have zero followers, not even bots. I didn’t think that was possible.

If a chicken killed a puppy, nobody would complain if the chicken were summarily executed. I would even go so far as to say most people would demand the chicken’s execution. I know I would.

The old GMG Kinja site comments are all still online, if somewhat less user-friendly than previously. I maintain a sliver of hope that Paste management realizes the virtues of the Kinja platform and acquires it. Paste has kept AV Club on Kinja and it’s certainly getting more comments than the WordPress sites.

Ouch.  I take this post personally.

You’re finishing up your day at work. Another long one. The last two years have been complete hell. All you wanted to do was help secure America by enforcing the laws we’ve already got in the books. Growing up you didn’t care about money, you just wanted to do the right thing. Make your parents proud. There was

TomatoFace retired while you were gone. It’s been all downhill from there.

Mr. Spanfeller’s fatal error was declining to take TomatoFace up on his offer to run his own vertical for an equity stake back in 2019. It was all downhill from there.

Commenting is still online, it’s just not as user-friendly as it was once was. As long as the system is up I’ll hang around. It might be fun having it all to myself.
