I recently read an article somewhere about how jaywalking became a thing as in breaking the law after a lot of lobbying by the auto industry.

I learned to always check on Jezebel if an article is cross posted and when it is I don't click.
Lol, I looked at this gif and didn't understand it. Close the tab, look at something else. Return to Jezebel a while later, scroll down without really looking and the sentence in my head was "This looks magical"
I mean, I really like the AMAs, Chris Carter is doing one and I love X-Files but why does this have to happen on reddit.
internalized misogyny to an unlivable level?
I'm very thankful that I only ever come across these things on Jezebel and never actually in my real life and wow must people know fucked up people. I never knew what a PUA was, never knew what this was, never met any of them in real life.
I think it is a genuinely American characteristic to always pretend to be 'non-judgemental' or 'let people do what they want as long as they don't hurt someone' and thus condoning all kinds of harmful things often supporting underlying concepts of oppression. Seen as in many years of not monitoring cults until they…
I wonder if she keeps buying into that ideology when something really bad happens to her?
I'm an introvert and I'm also sick and have very little energy. After the week is done I really need some time to myself to recharge. I was hanging with a group of people who got mad when I refused to join them to a weekly hangout in a very, very loud and busy bar (I don't drink either) with lots of strangers and they…
So: I'm not American. I haven't talked to that many women in my country who have given birth and the last I talked to had her baby a few decades ago.
I know a very naive 18 year old who was very excited to get her first tattoo a few weeks ago and it's such a stupid tattoo too (better though than her first idea, a sun with a recycle waste bin sign around it). She is very loud, self-confident and extroverted - I'm not. I just didn't have it in me to suggest waiting…

I'm always so taken aback by people who don't think this is a problem and it hurts my soul how they are the majority of people. In a world that is characterized by a system of oppression within gender dynamics set in place for thousands of years AND a system of oppression via a capitalist system how on earth would any…
Yes, I doubt it cost 13,000k of insurance money to re-install it.
I made the comment to made the point. I get that they were sentenced because they refused care for their child on religious reasons. However, if they had desperately tried to get care for their children but couldn't have afforded it, no health insurance company CEO would have been sentenced.
But what procedures is the ER going to do? Are they going to perform brain surgery? Can you go to the ER with a chronic disease and will receive the medication you are dependent on every day? My cousin couldn't afford AIDS medication and went to the ER and they sent him away.
They could have also told themselves that since god creates everything - why am I sure that god is male in their eyes? - 'he' would have created modern medicine as well to give his underlings the ability to help themselves. But no. What did they think was their magical friend going to do?
what I don't undestand: there are so many people suffering and dying in the US all the time even though their conditions are treatable but because they don't have health insurance nobody cares. Nobody gets sentenced for that - so why does it matter here.
Pat has one thing going for him then. I was sure it was only the wealthy Hollywood elite voting.
