If you’re the controlling owner of an entity, unless you’ve been declared incompetent by a court of law, there’s literally fuck all that any other officer can do to stop you from having your wishes carried out.

The OP is telling us that some schlepp who runs the team website has an obligation to stand up to the owners when a player does not, and relatively speaking, yes the player has it a lot easier than said schlepp who runs the website.

This is an idea that looks better on Twitter than it would be in execution I think.

Literally hundreds of guys have followed after Kaepernick, and not suffered at all. Not only that, Kaepernick touched a much more sensitive third rail, which is NFL culture and perception around the flag, patriotism and all that bullshit.

Knowledge of marketing has fuck all to do with this dude.

Sounds about right!

Is being under the bridge at the Galleria in Houston as magical as being under the boardwalk on Jersey Shore?

This is what space diapers are for.

People joke about subsisting on ramen but having been somewhat food insecure for a semester and having had that as a dietary staple ... ugh.

Having the schedule in that table is my new #LifeGoal

Carlisle does not have the power to intimidate ESPN and historical experience would suggest he really doesn’t care if they criticize coaches so long as they do so with a modicum of professionalism.

But the thing is an “overreaction”, that when compared with previous behavior in a similar situation, maybe shouldn’t be interpreted as the definitive final word on how someone really feels about something.

You’re misreading the day we’re in, and forgetting that Kaep’s one guy as compared to the hundreds who followed after him.

Let’s look at the actual track record.

He’s definitely touching on the issue of legitimacy, and I don’t know that he’d really care if Ball weren’t such an extreme caricature.

I mean, you can print what he says, but put it to the test by checking inside sources that ESPN most definitely has within the Lakers organization, and remind people in the article of exactly what sort of person Lavar Ball is so they can contextualize his opinion.

Printing an article where the father of an NBA player has an opinion that is printed as anything like legitimate erodes trust

The “bigger picture” until Jerry Richardson no longer owns the team, is still Jerry Richardson.

The people “running” the site are still not independent of Richardson, and they still make a lot less than an average Panthers player.
