Yup. Or those shitty “tips” books from the Scholastic book flyers.
Which makes me wonder, how did they find out about all those secrets. Were there people just cranking on NES games looking for secrets for a living in the mid 80s?

This is not a requirement of copyright law in the US. They can have it taken down regardless.
Personally I don’t think they SHOULD. But they CAN.
I miss getting excited about general information. It was so limited in those days before widespread internet use that every month felt a little like Christmas.
On top of what everyone else said, their reviews were generally in line with reviews from other magazines. Sometimes they were harsh on Nintendo franchises, too. They gave Pokemon Red and Blue a 7.2 out of 10.
Nintendo never presented Nintendo Power as anything but a house organ. There was nothing unethical about that.
Ooooooooo look how much money Nintendo is losing over this out of print magazine they themselves have zero intention of aechiving and making available ooooOoOOOooo
And it is cool and based, you’re a narc
Where are they still selling copies of Nintendo Pwer
Nintendo Power was clever, stealth marketing. Even with ROMS and re-releases, the cost to compile them, never mind the 50 something strategy guides they put out over the years wouldn’t make them enough money to bother and none of the staff that helped pitch it, no matter write and put it together is still alive, or…
I really miss game magazines. ‘Twas a simpler time.
The one day I don’t check Kotaku every hour, this is the day I miss an entire collection by a few hours. Looks like its already getting taken down. Not sure what the point of taking it down is exactly, its not like Nintendo will start selling the magazines again. They have nothing to gain by taking them down
So far as I’ve ever been able to tell, Nintendo isn’t nearly as protective of their tangential projects like Nintendo Power, in the same way that I doubt they’d get upset over an archival set of game manuals or something. They’re in the business of reselling ROMs, not old magazines and booklets. And preserving the…
more of a prevention of him getting police work elsewhere in the State.
IQ scores are pretty junk, but the thesis is the same: most cops I know are incredibly stupid/cowardly. They were either washouts from the service or were too dumb/soft to even attempt to join in the first place.
In my area the self check out lanes know when you don’t put the right thing in the bag after scan. I think it’s by weight. So now I’m picturing this cop trying to add sand to a sack full of Pokémon cards to get them to weight the same as a cantaloupe
Downright murderous prices
Have you seen the price of lettuce lately, though?
Just a friendly reminder that cops are the dumbest motherfuckers. Seriously how dumb was this guy? POS register systems displays a name after you scan an item specifically so a cashier can make sure someone doesn’t pull this shit.
The cards were coming right for him!
