I completely agree with you that people really really need to do a lot of research and mentorships and internships and etc...BUT that’s advice that’s not often said.

Very interesting - I definitely knew that about being a chef, but hadn’t really thought about the restaurant/bar business like that (possibly because I put in a few years on the server/kitchen side and that was irritating enough as it was). But it makes a lot of sense.
I don’t think he was banking on a better deal from Pittsburgh, but I do think part of the calculation/expectation was that Pittsburgh’s offense would take a huge step back.
Honestly, you’re far more the norm than people with a dream job and love their job endlessly. It’s not talked about, so people don’t realize it, but the vast majority of people are in the “work to live” mode. I’ve seen this a few places so don’t credit me for this, but you can basically break down workers into three…
Meanwhile I learned that screenwriting is way less glamorous than it looks.
Trust me, as a fan of the Cavs, I fully understand how it works in a small market - you have no choice but to roll the dice even when you’re not sure, because the alternative is letting them walk and starting again from square zero.
It’s incredible that the Wolves are paying $300 million to two young guys and still aren’t sure if either of them is a true franchise superstar.
Blizzard forgot who was in the room with them.
Agreed. The criteria are absolutely ridiculous.
Agreed. One thing that people seem to forget about these sorts of “how about ____ against professional ___ players” questions is just like how phenomenally good these dudes are.
It’s because there’s more blame on someone who’s cold than someone who’s hot. If you’re naturally cold, it’s easy to point to your clothing choices and criticize those - as shown in the 47 different comments where people go “bring a sweater idiot” or “have you heard of keeping a jacket in your trunk”.
I think the difference is that plenty of people had already written off Wiggins - every advanced metric has been saying he’s somewhere between “mediocre” and “actively bad” for several years. And before signing his max extension last year, there was a huge debate among basketbloggers and fans whether Minnesota should…
Even worse is that the longer this goes on, the closer a player like Karl-Anthony Towns gets to the point of no return when it comes to his growth being stunted.
My asthma has gotten worse this Fall and I don’t know why, because going to the doctor in America in 2018 is impossible, so I’ll usually wake up in the middle of the night to use my Albuterol Inhaler because I can’t really breath that well without it for some reason.
At least you didn’t write a passive-aggressive Comic Sans letter to a departed employee.
It depends on who you have to repeatedly send your just-checking emails to.
And he said he does not want to pick the option up for I guess it’s 500 or - I’m not sure. He said five something. And he just said it’s too much money
I always find it weird when people censor their furious emails. Like Mr. [Gmail email] is already calling Samer “disgusting” and “filthy”, insulting his spirituality/religion, and condemning him to repent...but somehow he’s too polite to spell out his curse words?
Correct.
I’ve made the cynical joke for years that the only reason airlines give you a seat rather than duct-taping you to the ceiling is because FAA regulations don’t allow it.
