It’s really interesting to play with the size of the nuke. North Korea’s 10 kiloton weapon? Doesn’t even wipe out the entire area that I’d call “downtown”.

Heartbreaker is way worse.
Not only do they still get a paycheck, they aren’t even necessarily required to show up to work and solve the damn thing. If both sides dug in their heels and firmly decided to not back down, there’s literally no mechanism to force it to get addressed until public/electoral pressure builds up enough to force them back…
We’d sort of move dirt in a circle/oval to form an ‘arena’, then everybody would put a few marbles in the circle and then you try to skim another marble trying to knock other people’s out of the circle. Rotate turns and once someone’s marbles are all knocked out, they’re out of the game.
I think he certainly does have multiple ‘sources’.
At my (elementary) school back in the 90's, the pog craze was just after the marbles phase and just before everybody in class got into Magic: The Gathering*.
That’s quite possibly the most 90's GIF that’s ever existed.
No, you’re definitely not alone.
The problem that economists have shown with arenas is that it’s usually not an actual increase in spending, but more of a transfer from one place to another.
I am only a casual follower of MMA and UFC, so maybe this is a stupid question (feel free to tell me so).
First off, this series is awesome and it’s always cool to see it.
I’m guessing that when the city says it’s “valued at $80,000", they’re including all sorts of ancillary costs - several hours of city workers’ time to physically install the unit in the pavement, the long-term maintenance contract signed with the manufacturer, a traffic engineer to review the signalization of the…
That’s why so many coaches suck, they’re so stuck up that they think THEY have the secret formula to winning it all and that it’s all just the players not being good enough to run it.
There two semi-overlapping issues here:
I already signed up for their CFB coverage alone. A big fan, but I am a long time Stew Mandel fan boy.
That’s what I’m wondering about too. Thus far, the Athletic has been (I assume) successful, but mostly through targeting markets that have been under-served: Either Midwestern cities whose loyal fans were entirely reliant on now-dying newspapers or sports that ESPN/FOX/etc have cut way back on their written coverage…
It’s a pipe dream because it would be completely stupid for them to do that. What’s the outcome if they try replace Kim Jong?
I guess I don’t get it, if the guy hates dogs, why would he date a woman who has two?
The problem with that argument is that the Cavs don’t really have any way to retool the roster, at least not to the extent that they’d need to legitimately challenge Golden State (or even a continually improving Boston).
I don’t think he’d get nearly that level of hate this time. First off, he’s still the prodigal son who returned to deliver the city its’ only championship in over 50 years. Secondly, the national atmosphere towards players leaving has shifted a lot even in the past few years (Durant didn’t get ripped nearly as much by…
