Yes she was. The entire roundtable discussion that sparked her comments was about pay disparities in Hollywood, not the general population. That stat does not apply to entertainment industry, since there is no data from it. That’s why there was backlash in the first place.

The stats aren’t necessarily wrong, but she is wrong for applying them to an industry which hasn’t been measured. Statistics 101: You cannot generalize a sample to the population.
