2002 was pretty cool though. South Korea won their group , beat Italy in the round of 16, and Spain in the quarters. They did lose to Germany in the semifinals (1-0) and Turkey (3-2) for 3rd place.

For my money, I would rather Korea go out like this—taking down a giant and eliminating the defending champions--than to lose in the next round. Today was glorious. So proud of my boys.

If only Mexico had beaten Sweden, then this would have been the greatest sports day in Korean history (including hosting the World Cup 16 years ago).

...and if he doesn’t lead his team to the Asian Games gold medal this summer then they can hold on to the memory while he is forced back to Korea for compulsory service.

And a Mexican football legend, for that matter. 

There is nothing more Spurs than Son Heung Min leading his team to the necessary 2-0 victory over Germany and still getting knocked out of the tournament.

You’ve got to be proud. They were in, arguably, the toughest group of the tournament. If you told any team that they would only concede 3 goals and shutout Germany in pool play, they’d take it in a heartbeat. But somehow, they did that and still finished 3rd!

It’s well-known that when you teach kids the right words for their parts they’ll be better able to articulate if someone touches them inappropriately. Why do conservatives want children to stay silent about being molested? It’s kind of creepy when you think about it.
