At first, the Soviets followed suit, strapping parts to Antonov An-124. But even though the Antonov An-124 was the largest cargo transporter in the world it still wasn’t large enough for the Soviet space program.

People do this but it’s exorbitantly expensive, it’s almost always cheaper to buy new furniture when you get to your destination.
Being Christian must be hard.
To be fair, the An-225 can load piggyback. But then you’d have to design mounts, certify the whole thing, etc. And it isn’t like you can land it where you need the blade.
“The sex scene was really unnecessary,” could be said of most Moore era bond movies. I didn’t watch them because of the plausible storylines or the well developed characters... ;)
Loved the campy high-budget Roger Moore era. There’s probably some bias there because I grew up with it, though.
Journalists consistently and hilariously mislabel aircraft, or use a stock photo with the wrong type. But this isn’t unique for my industry. As soon as you are steeped in a profession, especially a technical profession, this sort of thing happens. Aviation, along with a few others, is a bit special because so many…
Every pilot starts out in small aircraft. Not much automation to speak of. So we have experience of flying stuff that is quite simplistic. More importantly, any good pilot education aims at molding a “thinking pilot”. Don’t blindly trust automation or calculations.
Indeed. Carrying Buran was the purpose of the An-225 development.
Different, yes, but it is still a derivative of the An-124, radical though the changes were. It has a new split tail, fuselage plugs to make it longer, root extensions for increased span, no rear ramp.
Ah I see. Yes. Yes it is. Only a single one made, though to be fair it is a derivative of the An-124.
What about it?
First of all, thanks for your questions.
I know you meant it as a joke, but one physical runway is actually two usable runways, one from each direction, so the bits at the end on takeoff are used when taking off and landing in the other direction.
It’s possible the pilots made an error in their performance calculations.
This is a bad thing? ;)
Side note: The national animal of Finland is the brown bear.
Agreed. Living in small flats in Hong Kong for years, I’ve learned that there’s very little stuff you actually need to store. An old game console that I most likely will never use again does not make the cut. It just takes up space and will be thrown out during the next move.

I hadn’t heard that about Avast. I haven’t used it in years.

McAfee carefully straddles the line of user experience, effectiveness, price, and optimization. There’s an impressive feature set, too, with options like built-in VPN for power users. Just $20 to cover three devices for a year, run a McAfee scan at least once every couple of months to keep your system’s gears…
