A couple of nitpicks on the translations from German. Any native German speakers out there, please clarify/correct if I am wrong.

My first thought was "something farted on Curiosity?"

The way I read all this is that Mr. Burton sounds like a bit of a snob. And that's always off-putting.

Or he carefully applied some SPF1000000000000

Here's another "WTF?" moment from the remastering. In a scene where Angel is sleeping on the floor of Buffy's room, the remastered version has removed the filter that darkens the room. It now looks as if Angel is lying down in full sunlight.

Now that's just crazy talk. ;)

Thankfully I live about 3 hours flight away so I'm sure I'm safe from DPRK ballistic missiles.

Fair point.

Haha. Indeed.

Probably. You'd have to make the sideways transitions rather gentle or people would fall over.

Fair point, but on the other hand a long and heavy cable is also a lot of weight to move around, counterbalanced or not. And maintenance on that.

It is still very hard to make CGI look 100% real. The lack of imperfections may be a factor. Sure, the animators incorporate "imperfection" but for some reason most of us can still tell. Practical effects, on the other hand, do look real.

No worries. Living in a city of highrises I do sometimes get nervous when in a lift (britspeak for "elevator"), and certainly a snapped cable is not my idea of fun.

Your plane seems to be leaking. I'd get that looked at... ;)

What are they holding on to?

Because in many cities, especially in East Asia, space is at a premium and the economic incentive to continue building upwards continues unabated. Making elevators more efficient is a big thing in supertalls, as elevators are the limiting factor in building efficiency. The taller the building, the higher percentage

Cable-less elevators already exist today.

"Share and enjoy."

True. Mostly though, what irks me is the lack of taper and the excess fabric folding up on the back of the thighs. That's right, I'm irked.

Yes, and the scourge of autoplay continues to make millions suffer worldwide. ;)
