Private rescues and public shelters are two different things. Many rescues have ridiculously strict rules, but most city and county shelters don’t — they don’t have the money or time to do that kind of vetting even if they wanted to.

As I find it to be a shitty, unfunny wheelhouse, I don’t visit it.

I feel for him, as deportation is a risk that all permanent residents face if they get a criminal conviction, not just in the U.S. You really can only breathe easier once you get citizenship, since governments can very easily change rules and make life hell for immigrants without warning.
