Have y’all responded to our concerns about this infinite scroll business? Many of us would like it to end.
The same way we fill up our gasoline cars without having a gas station at our home - with a long enough range and quick charging, you just do it when it’s convenient.
Yes, the infrastructure needs to be put in place, and yes the range needs to be there, but mfg’s and governments don’t look at now, they look down the…
Great post. I agree and think that, if people actually calculated what they have spent on their cars, they would make very different car-buying decisions. They might even choose a different location to live too.
If you look at the average trip distance in the US you would see that cars simply enable the lazy. The vast majority of this nation could feasibly cut their driving in half by making better decisions. It would take effort, and it would never happen, but the reality is that much of our driving is wholly unnecessary.…
But then how will Broey McBrodozer get his new Raptor? He needs it to haul his stuff to CrossFit and pick up his 55 gallon drums of protein powder and creatine?
Can we talk about car loans for a bit?
At least you have your own Expedition, instead of someone else’s, as in “No Scrubs”
the myth of the growth economy is showing cracks. The Rich are already preparing for the collapse by trying to fuck the poor into submission before they organize. /this rant could be much longer but I’m tired of yelling.
America is ass backwards in so many ways. Big cars, Big houses, and Big suburban sprawl.
“I’ve never quite understood why automakers keep pushing for record sales every month.”
Neutral : I know as soon as I post this, some keyboard warrior is going to expound on how I’m fundamentally wrong. But here it goes...if the car companies want to see their sales numbers climb, they need to bring back the truly affordable car. Right now, they’ve been riding high on the markups on trucks and SUVs.…
Fuck O’Reilly!
Bingo. Slight inconvenience 1% of the time vs. hating life/driving something you don’t like/selling the car you love 100% of the time.
Keep the car you have. So many people rush out to get boring ass crossovers and other huge cars they don’t need as soon as they find out a kid is on the way. The GTI will handle 99% of all the kid hauling duties (including the stroller). I’ve managed with my one kid and a Focus just fine and my non-car guy buddy with…
Dumb customer: “Hey, I GOTTA HAVE A CHARGER!!!”
“They want to ban all cars!”
Isn’t the problem that the health of the economy requires consumer spending and consumers can only spend if credit is extended on generous terms?
Or...perhaps designing communities that require the use of an automobile is terrible idea for a multitude of reasons , some of which include car ownership being an indirect tax on the poor, larger carbon footprint, and promotes obesity and a sedentary lifestyle
That is because minimum parking space laws are governmental subsidies for automobiles. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say government regulation is driving up the price of cars and then say removing government regulations is making it more difficult own the car.
