Soapbox... As someone with a horrible family history of colon cancer, get your preventative colonoscopies (if you can afford it, obviously)! Too many people are putting them off because they’re “icky.” So is death and leaving your loved ones behind! My dad, his siblings, and Chris (in the story) all had colon cancer

“I was trying to explain that all hospitals are required by law to treat patients in need of emergency care regardless of their ability to pay and that the Republican plan does not change that,”

if you MUST KNOW

Sure I’d do anything to meet Ja Rule!

Yes. One of the reasons I love L.M. Alcott is that she was queer as fuck, and came from a radical political and religious background, but because Little Women has so much discussion of Good Christian Morals, lots of evangelicals and homeschoolers still allow their girls to read it, and it’s super subversive.

That’s such an important point, about their radical politics being so key to the 1990s adaptation; it’s what made the scene between Jo and Professor Baer at the theater sing. And Susan Sarandon’s Marmee was a joy.

My fave screen adaptation is the 1990sone with Susan Sarandon as Marmee, Winona Ryder as Jo, and Kirsten Dunst as Amy. It spotlights the March family’s radical politics, which is cool. Second is the 1940s one with Elizabeth Taylor as Amy and Peter Lawford as Laurie. Can’t wait to see the PBS/BBC version.

Amy was The Worst and I am still not over Laurie marrying her.

True Story: I work in a bank drive-thru, in my own individual booth. To pass time between customers, I read books on my Kindle. One of the books I’ve finished recently is Little Women. For the eleventy billionth time in my life.

Completely. Like, “you’re dead to me” level of unforgivable. Like, “I see you at family gatherings and I look right through you and don’t even acknowledge that you exist” unforgivable.

Does everyone think Amy is utterly unforgivable for burning Jo’s book, or does she just seem that way to me because I’m a big sister and have written book manuscripts?

Does anyone else irrationally hate the word “hubby” to a disconcerting degree?

Thing is, he also looks like the German, Dutch, and Czech Cudahians doing the same stuff.

TBF, he does look exactly like a middle aged sunburnt Polish guy in Cudahy who buys Beast by the case and has very strong opinions on exactly which race is responsible for his neighborhood going to shit and still tells stories about the time he called Brad Lohaus a fag and he’s pretty sure he heard him.

Ah, the Brewers’ Polish Sausage. No real visual stereotypes that communicate “Polish” to Americans, so they just stuck him in a sweater and baseball cap before calling it a day.

Damn, Ijeoma Oluo is no joke. Her interview was a damn good read. She got at the crux of the problem with this crazy bitch. Rachel is a BETTER Black woman than you. She knows MORE about Blackness than you, a Black woman, could possibly know. Because she read some books and CHOSE Blackness, see, and you were just born

I can only wish for such arrogance.

  • Set up an interview with Riz Ahmed, pull out one boob, say nothing.

War criminal. Fuck him.
