Is there a name for the phenomenon when society takes someone who is very successful, and by all accounts an extremely down-to-earth and well-adjusted human being, and suddenly decides that they suck and don’t deserve their success?

I think Marie Rose is hot too...BUT THAT’S NOT SOMETHING YOU EVER ACTUALLY TELL ANYONE IN REAL LIFE
No, the writers of the mod decided it was on them to add swearing to apparently every single line in the game, because it makes it super edgy and cool.
While I appreciate that this took a lot of time and hard work, thanks but no thanks. I prefer that the voices in text based games sound like I imagine they do.
“ Admiral Holdo’s invocation of the Force in The Last Jedi was rendered by Laura Dern as a nod to the character being in some way Force-sensitive herself, but explicitly not a Jedi.”
The fact that The AV Club collectively came to a decision that the limp and lifeless LOTR series was better than House of the Dragon says everything, if anything The Rings Of Power was on par with the mediocre Wheel of Time...
“made it sound like that” is already quite a friendly read on her video statement, since she clearly says “The final offer to do the whole game as a buyout, a flat rate, was 4 thousand US Dollars”. Word by word from her video.
With all due respect, I refuse to watch a Kotaku video on DQXI not made by Tim Rogers
Out of all the creatures in the first SH film the ones I had the hardest time getting by were the Sexy Nurses. (They were designed and performed terrifically though, this isn’t a critique of that aspect.) I mean yeah I get why they were in the film, they’re iconic in the lore like Pyramid Head and I bet if they hadn’t…
Atmospherically it was neat, changing to be a mom protag was good, but it was the start of the downward slope effectively. Especially in terms of using Pyramid Head for every fucking thing. It basically cribbed him and the laying figure creature out of SH2 where they had psychological intention behind their design and…
Konami wont do that until Hideo Kojima is dead or can somehow not profit from Metal Gear.
Their games are primarily in the Walking Simulator new age horror which is very much not super popular with old school survival horror fans, and their writing has been considered a bit controversial/bad.
Bloober Team doesn’t seem to really understand horror, in my opinion. Google “layers of fear girl running into wall” and you’ll see the most damning evidence.
When they’re playing in their own space, it’s easy enough to ignore. But this remake means things to people, and I’m not sure Bloober is capable of doing this…
What I got from the film segment is that “Return” is going to be a pretty direct film adaptation of SH2, hence the remaking of that game to coincide. This is an unpopular opinion in the fandom but I actually like the first SH film, as different as it was from the first game. I know a lot of fans couldn’t get past the…
It is hard for me to feel excited about this game. Xenoblade Chronicles was pretty trite with extremely flat characters. People hyped it up, and they talk about 3 being so much better.
I’m glad they didn’t touch the sprites. I think they age extraordinarily well
Remasters and Remakes are not synonymous.
Honestly, considering its quality, there’s probably more bang for your buck if you’re not getting the sequel.
Don’t get 3, just get RF4.
Really though, I think this is the first direct where I wasn’t really interested in anything. The new Zelda, maybe, but I wasn’t a huge fan of BotW and time has only cooled my enthusiasm. I’ll probably still play it at some point but it’s definitely a “wait and see if it’s more of the same” kinda deal.
