Release the game 10 years later, needs 2 active subscriptions to play, mask purchases behind Square Enix’s fun coins... It’s like they really don’t want you to play the game.

Nah, it is bad taste, “you passed away, ok, BUT LET ME TELL YOU A STORY ABOUT ME, a GAME JOURNALIST AND PAID PROFESSIONAL that hasn’t played iconic/relevant games to this industry....”, lol.
I 100% agree. It’s an extremely goofy and tasteless way to frame your article.
This might just be me, but something about this article and the title are just in bad taste.
It’s sad when every person in the comments knows more about games and is far more informative and well-versed on the topic than the professional getting paid to write about games for a living...
I’m convinced that film execs and producers don’t know the difference between a good film and a bad one, they simply see them as the sum of their parts.
I’ve tried playing this game 3 times (restarting), and always quit 5 to 10 hours in. The story wasn’t gripping enough to slog through the bog standard open-world fluff I’ve long grown tired of in these types of games, and I didn’t like the combat at all.
One of the best-selling and highest rated games of that year… “underrated”.
PlayStation’s Most Underrated Exclusive …
Don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone ever refer to Horizon as “underrated”
“Automated Mimicry”
Yeah, those kinds of inflated event ads on Facebook are notorious in my city. Even without AI, they’ll just post a professional photo that in no way reflects what’s actually on offer. Maybe not the extent of this particular event, but still “expectations =/= reality.” A couple of the ones that we fell for.
What article? Lol it’s just a slideshow with some headlines pulled from the lyrics to “Pure Imagination”. Fun pics but doesn’t even attempt to provide context.
I doubt any of the parents believed the event would be exactly like the AI images, but they sure as hell expected more than the images on the right.
This isn’t Kotaku’s fault. The song was written and performed by C+C Music Factory with Martha Wash (half of the Weather Girls, aka, “It’s Raining Men”) as uncredited vocals on that song (also a bit of irony considering this clip).
Want the best part of this? It is the same writer, the story is made by the same person that worked on Morbius. They literally rewarded mediocrity
thanks for sharing this excellent gaming news
This sounds like an industry plant of an article. Hmmmmm!
my suggestion: track down a refurbished steam deck. It’s a bit more $ but it does what the portal does and then some.
