@Jaredu: No disrespect intended, but while your ideas are noble, they just don't mesh with how the real world works. The whole argument is based on a bunch of IFs that just aren't going to happen. Utopias can't exist because human nature doesn't favor equality.

@Namarrgon: NASA is good, but we can't put all of the spending in one basket. Don't forget that everything NASA has done has potential military benefits so you get military spending without appearing to do so. NASA paved the way for ICBMs, spy satellites and all kinds of other goodies.

@HeeroYuy01W: Somehow I have a feeling that the fire supression systems aren't very useful because the chances of surving being hit are probably pretty slim. In the case that an explosive round blows you to pieces or turns your plane into swiss cheese, it may not make much of a difference if you have 1 fire supression…
