This was completely a dick move. There's no way a corporation that size can fix a flaw like that in 5 days. It'll probably even take them more than 5 days just to get to sort through their inbox just to get to that email.

@sarge5: Yeah, from what I understand, everything after G80 is ok. Unfortunately for 8800 owners, the G80s were generally the highest end 8-series cards. :(

@Time Pilot AKA: Actually, I think you're ok. Only G80 based GPUs got hosed, your GPU is a G84 .

So apparently my 8800 GTX XXX with 756 MB of memory isn't worthy of hardware acceleration. Damn you Adobe.

Current technology is already capable of automatic cruise and landing, but I don't think that's the big issue with automatic pilots. The real issue is what the thing does when things go wrong. Currently, that's what the pilot is there for; I'd imagine that we have quite a ways to go before we can go fully autonomous.

@stre: Also, with the iPhone 4 you didn't have to read tech blogs. If you watch the news, you'd know a new one was just around the corner. Even the night time comedy shows mentioned it.

@Pook365: Considering they were on the brink of death, I'd say that whatever it was, it wasn't enough.

@MrZook: Not really. We get the option of keeping our existing unlimited data plans.

@ajneuman: Actually, they didn't. They did this the first year because the phone wasn't subsidized and they did this last year only for people who bought it around the first week and paid at least $100/month. I know this because I didn't qualify for an upgrade when the 3GS came out.
