I hate how much shit this show gets. I totally understand not liking it. I vacillate. But there are SO many shows that are worse that don't get nearly as much flak as Girls does, and I do think that, whatever you think about the very particular style of the show, it is well-done in that particular style. I also think

Nah for sheer darker colors you'd still want a nude bra. if you wear a white bra under a sheer white shirt or a black bra under a sheer black shirt, there is an obvious contrast between the color of your skin showing through the cloth and the color of the bra (even if it's the same as the shirt). Bras that match your

Plus, Aladdin gave his bread to those homeless kids. I feel like he kinda averages out morally.

That is the correct way to be a 'cool' adult, generally. You know kids are gonna drink. Don't facilitate it, just acknowledge it, and give them the tools to be safe-ish when they do.

I often LIKE teenager-types and have definitely found plenty to relate to them on (as a tutor working with a bunch of teenagers), but even the kids I really liked, I had/have absolutely zero desire to party with.

Do that!! I wish I could've done it that way.

Because it's about the story and the way the story was told, not actual people. In real life, sure, but for the way they told this story, they basically made it seem like marrying the mom and the mom dying was just another step in his journey to finally being with Robin.

You mean another female superhero tv show?

Yeah, I feel like "weirdest" doesn't need to mean "kinkiest" — a lot of the examples aren't kinky at all, just oddly specific.

Um, yes.

When you go to the doctor:

When my dog was a pup, she ate a hot pink pen. She kept looking up at us with those big, adorable, "who me?" eyes, but her nose and paws were covered in hot pink ink.

So, you have to get people to sign a waiver when you film them for something in order for it to be legal to use that footage commercially, right? Why does that not apply to potentially-compromising photography? (I'm not arguing that it doesn't, but if you have some legal/IP background, any thoughts?)

I think that *thinking* of themselves as noble is part of what gets them off.

Actual transgressive art is "fuck the man," not "fuck over the people who are being fucked over by everyone else." Or I guess yeah, making YOURSELF vulnerable is neither of those and also totally cool.

I'm pretty sure an image of a naked person who has not consented to have their image used isn't covered by that.

I also just noticed how amazing your username is.

Well put.

Right — I think there ARE appropriate ways to tell a 'rape joke,' but they have to be a) jokes about rape CULTURE, not jokes about how funny it is when rape happens b) context-appropriate and c) even if you are 100% sure your rape joke is not the offensive kind, if it's making someone deeply uncomfortable, just stop.

So complaining about feeling uncomfortable violates free speech, but firing someone for complaining about feeling uncomfortable doesn't?
