I think that has less to do with the story having a female lead and more to with Themes that Bujold is interested in. Romantic themes play heavily in "Komarr" and "A Civil Campaign" and they both have male leads, if that puts things into perspective.

I think she is actually wearing a dress (and not happily) during that scene.

I wouldn't even go that far. HH is just an archetype completely devoid of any interesting complications. Aral at least has an arc.

...an animal whose brain is made up entirely of whirling claws.

I was going to post about cats along with my question about Elephants. Both seem to contradict the list of guidelines.

Except not everyone needs 32GB and 4G. The Xoom was going to be the device that got me to pull the trigger on a tablet. But I really only want it for e-books and reading blogs on my couch. $800 is a bit much for that.

Aren't Elephants used as pack animals in Asia/India?

but this really might be the most ludicrously overqualified cast in history relative to the weakness of material.

I keep watching this show out of Residual Fan Loyalty to Chiklis and Benz, but its gone past the point where I can actually recommend anyone give it a try. Everytime you think they're about to something interesting they manage to backstep into schmaltzy stupidity and cliches. I want o it to get canceled so these

Steampunk Sarah Palin,?

I just hope they aren't using the slow reveals as a cover for not having written the backstory.

No. I don't have problem with "slow" pacing but Outcasts definitely suffers from having too many scenes that just go on too long. Its like the director was trying to build atmosphere but wasn't quite clear on how to employ the technique.

Was there ever an Adele/Victor thing? I wouldn't say the imprint of the English dude WAS Victor even if her interest in the English Dude went beyond sex and Fencing as Foreplay.

Jadzia/Ezri/Worf could have been interesting if they hadn't killed it off in one episode.

3. Surely you meant Mellie, Paul, Echo and Caroline.

The publishing bust hit a lot of really good authors hard. One of my favorite short story writers (Tim Pratt) had to go this route to finish a series that got chopped. He actually managed to stick to his own schedule though.

WIN.

Not what the list is about. The Black Dude Dies First trope was always about supporting characters.

Wait? You're serious?
