but it also reportedly serves as a “a visual cue in lieu of the traditional engine noise absent in an EV,” per Reuters. Genesis calls it the “sphere” and it will light up when the Chinese market EV starts up.

I agree that it isn’t huge and they don’t denote inventory vs in transit from what I see. But more of an overall industry thing. Their pace of growth has slowed pretty hard. But without historic numbers the 18k doesn’t mean much but seems a bit high for the non-dealer inventory model they run.

It would be really interesting.

Yeah, all things considered I was pretty impressed.

Yeah, they had a stage separation failure so they blew up the rocket before it left the safety zone. I believe they were trying a new separation system that did not use explosives but instead used inertia to separate the two systems. Obviously that didn’t work.

Snap! Its almost better. Tried Bard:

Instead of a pusher or rocket seperation, they’re trying to do a “fling” - it’s supposed to START rotating attached, and then... pop off.

Scary times to be the average Jalopnik writer. Here’s ChatGPT’s response to “Write an article titled ‘The 10 fastest cars the middle class can afford’”. It did pretty good:

Thank you for making the real list! Articles like this seem like they are slapped together then put in a slide show just for clicks. At this point AI could already be writing them.

You’ve got a point. Nonetheless, it’s nice to have a skiff for the peripheral staff.

I’m sorry, but do this man’s boats really merit the dozen-plus articles that have been published about them on this site alone? In all likelihood they’re just going to be docked in Monaco 99% of the time.

Many look like they come from GTA: they want to copy well known existing models, but are subtly different to avoid IP issues.

Nobody other than the almost 500,000 people who bought a new one in the last three months.

Jalopnik math. You fall into the set ofanyone on Earth,” right? Checks out.

I’m not sure how to do the correct math but if the odds of ANYONE on earth being hit are 1 in 2,467 that does not mean that MY chances are 1 in 2,467 as I’m one of 8 billion people.

I watch that video. Went from “No way I’m watching 2 hours of a guy dig a hole” to “This is ridiculous, I can’t turn away.”

I’ve watched a few of Colin’s videos, but he always seems a little over excited to me. Like South American white powder levels of over excited, even if he’s just digging a hole in the ground.

I think he meant to say neural-net, but that would be a cloud-leveraged implementation that has very little to do with the on-board processing.

Might not want to mount your Jet Engine to a wooden frame.

Welp...they did it. Someone went and reinvented the wheel.
