When I went to law school, every independent contractor and corporate shield case was a New York taxi case from the 1920s and 30s. New York cab companies INVENTED the independent contractor as we know him today.

And people from pre-Victorian working conditions moved, and competed hard, for those Victorian working conditions.

They hire foreigners at minimum wage. That cab never sits still.

I do that too. We should charge for repairing the meters!

No job that is full of foreigners is a good living anywhere in the world.

As opposed to the plutocrat taxi drivers.

The original intent of the medallion was cartelisation as political reward.

Chattanooga, Tennessee, same deal. Plus ridiculously expensive, $55 to take me 15 miles, I could rent a car for the day for that!

Except our own health care. THAT will be different. /s

And the FULL cost of my Enron stock, NOW!!!

Or the fund manager who was going to get rich on CDS back in ‘o5, or for that matter the man who bet on red 22 at the roulette table five minutes ago.

You don’t think he would have turned in an unlicensed hack (for criminal penalties) who he saw competing with him?

I shed not a single tear for anyone who tried to get rich by buying into the taxi oligopoly. Cartels are ALL evil restraints on liberty that ultimately harm the commons.

CT puts rust on your car at the border just in case there isn’t already some.

Defaults as in turned off the day the bill isn’t paid. Service providers know how to limit their deadbeat losses, much harder for sellers of actual things.

What do they get for $600 a month?

I’ll bet church and dinner were interesting.

A ten month old car does, though.

That’s not passive aggressive, that’s pretty much aggressive aggressive.

The St. George and St. Stanislas aren’t Romanian awards, they are Imperial Russian ones.
