I think you might be mis-remembering. The book has the more succinct exchange:

In The Martian's defense, I understand that Irrfan Khan was originally supposed to be in that role but had to pass. Now, I'm not sure why they couldn't have hired one of thousands of other Indian actors, but at least they meant well at first.

GF's writing is also the reason I have no qualms about looking at a guide. It's still last resort, but I'm there for the charming dialogue, not for guessing and checking day, week, time combinations for forged tickets. Stupid kitty hat Tuesdays.

Ah, you're speaking of the Bloc Party effect.

Sure it's not just the movies themselves that are awful?

I started this weekend going to one of the 70mm screenings of The Hateful Eight. Ennio Morricone's score was fantastic. The snowy Wyoming landscape was beautiful. The lingering Civil War resentments gave the 3 hours a palpable tension. Walton Goggins and Sam Jackson were terrific, especially Jackson's tense

They should be forced to step on an image of Jared Leto's "damaged" face to prove their loyalties.

As far as the recent Disney studios output goes, I still can't quite figure out the universal adoration of Frozen, apart from that one big song. I thought Tangled and Big Hero 6 were both much better.

SPOILER: Either she's dead or she's under lock and key in a loveless marriage. Either way, they wrote their best character out of the story abruptly and for no good reason.

2015's GOTY(s): Life Is Strange definitely has its flaws and Tales from the Borderlands mostly doesn't, but I still have to narrowly give the edge to Life Is Strange. Borderlands was a blast, but Life Is Strange brought out emotions I haven't felt playing a game since the first season of The Walking Dead. The music

But if you do get confident down the road and want to try Ironman, there are few things more rewarding/nerve-wracking.

Stuart has gone from asking if this is a bit to leading the way on bits. Truly we're living in the age of Wellington.

I was just listening to it on the train today after letting it sit for a few months. It's always nice to return to an album after a bit and have a different set of songs pop. I don't know why I'm only just know really paying attention to "Freazy." It's great!

D'Angelo was late 2014. Only reason he's showing up on lists this year is all the publications who wrote all their Best Ofs in November.

Finally, finally got around to playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's just as ageless as Super Metroid. Even with the hilarious voice acting.

I'm now picturing a version of Gotham that still lasts 40-odd minutes, still cuts from scene to scene, but all the characters just stare wordlessly at each for minutes on end.
