I'm sure there are thousands upon thousands of letters with any given president's signature on them that were penned by a staffer and were given only a cursory glance and a quick stamp of approval.

…or new gal

Obviously no one is throwing actors off cliffs, but there are a lot of better looking green-screened, falling-off-stuff deaths from the '80s that don't use a wavy arm puppet like Robocop uses. Even if they hit the uncanny valley, at least they're don't look like they're recreating the "Where's the Fish?" scene from The

I feel like I've already forgotten huge chunks of that movie… what bad effects were in that opening? I can only remember that one shot of everyone jumping into battle that would look great in a comic but looked pretty dodgy on film.

Look, I love Robocop as much as anyone with respectable taste, but the effects in that scene are simply not good. His arms suddenly become five feet long. Good movies can have bad effects! Take a look at Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Great effects, right? Not when the Vogel-doll holding onto the top of the tank

Pssh… Christopher Lambert is immortal.

The Day the Spider-Clone Cried

Brutal, but effective.

These are good, but the real champion of Merfish's fake intro videos was the side-by-side Arthur theme. But sadly, the world of public broadcasting wasn't happy with the association and its been removed.

Nobody will ever mention this again, under penalty of torture.

Same here. Just turned 30. FFVI will probably always be my favorite game. FFVII, on the other hand, was always a lot of fun, but I never loved its world or its characters as deeply.

That bad, huh? I'd heard mixed things so I hadn't quite gotten around to it yet. And I too am a big Ishiguro fan, even for the stuff that isn't universally considered great.

Life Is Strange is just really lovely. I think its too early to say if it's better than Telltale's efforts, but by focusing on character instead of plot, it avoids the "choices don't matter" criticism so often thrown at the Telltale model. I only just got it during the Steam Sale and I'm not even done with part 2, but

Finally getting around to Life Is Strange, the most expensive of my many super cheap Steam purchases last week, after two different friends insisted I stop what I'm doing and play it right now. Only finished Chapter 1, but I really adore it. Not too many games tackle such universally relatable themes as reconnecting

No risk at all. I picked it up last winter and devoured it over the next few months. The half real-time, half turn-based dynamic takes a tiny bit to get used to, but once you're comfortable, it's a total blast.

Reverse Batman?

Except for Barq's

Yeah, but they're get significantly less kid-friendly pretty fast.

Yeah, blaming the Church is just a way to avoid taking responsibility for the movie being a turd. We're talking about a film where a polar bear rips off the jawbone of another polar bear and yet the first word I would use to describe it is boring.
