Exactly. This one actually sounds pretty fascinating — thank God someone is doing something that doesn't involve zombies — but I refuse to buy early access.
@Asianshoebox thinks Limbaugh is great for kids' parties!
I'm a little baffled by people who adore this movie, but I'm much more baffled by the people who despise it. There's just not a lot here, one way or the other. That's the article I want to read, not whether the film accurately portrays independent music store culture (because who cares?) but why does such an…
This wasn't my first adult book, but it was the first time I remember people dismissively saying, "The book is better." Much as I enjoyed reading about raptors getting blown up, 12 (not 10, sorry) year old me largely disagreed. The two were too different to compare. A movie that slavishly followed the book would be an…
Stealth Bourne remake. Parks & Rec's visions of the future are all true!
I don't disagree with this article, but I do think that someone could play this game, interpret the final choice completely differently, and still have a completely valid experience. There are no wrong justifications, as long as they are good enough to convince you.
EXACTLY why I can't stand when people complain about the choices not mattering. As if keep control over your social environment is "realistic."
I'm not going to go to bat for "Highly Suspicious," though I'll admit I don't hate its inexplicable nature as much as everyone else seems to. I do love Evil Urges though. "I'm Amazed" and "Remnants" are just about perfect.
Outdoor venues are to bros as eucalyptus trees are to koalas.
On top of everything else, Jar Jar beats his wife? Jesus. Fuck that guy.
I was fine with the meteor plan. It had extinction precedent. It made for a good visual, and picking a city instead of a random rock made the whole final battle a hostage situation. No complaints there.
I'd buy a lot more game soundtracks if I could get a discount from having owned the game. A lot of games have a soundtrack + game bundle, but I never know that I want a soundtrack until after I've played the game, so I never take advantage of that, unless it's a case like Transistor where I'm 100% sure I'll love it…
You have pretty much perfectly described my reaction to the game and precisely why I love it so much.
I agree with you wholeheartedly of course, but it's a sad state of the world when the thing that I appreciated the most about your comment is that you said "right in the heart" instead of the skin-crawling, ubiquitous "right in the feels."
Yeah Goon is really excellent. It really knows which sports movie cliches to subvert and which ones to embrace.
I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that was his best role. There Will Be Blood was a better movie, for sure, but DDL took over Gangs of New York so thoroughly that, after my first viewing, I could barely remember anything about the movie that didn't come out of his mouth.
I really liked his brief appearance in Wild. All that tension and he ends up being the nicest guy in the world.
SMB3 was released in 1988. Mario wisely cashed in his stock at peak mullet market share.
So, so, sooo much time. In games with really robust character creation, Skyrim et al., I usually make half a dozen different characters before sticking with one that feels right. I'll still go back a make a new one from time to time just for kicks. The only problem is that usually by the time I'm done creating a…
