The issue really isn’t that this particular juror can’t be fair because of his life experience, it’s that he failed to disclose that life experience when asked directly about it. This deprives the Defense of a fair opportunity to engage in the jury selection process. The Judge tied it all in a bow by saying that

Now, I’m not one of those fancy lawyers you see running around these parts.

It’s also tired as fuck coming from a 26 year old worth $200 million dollars. I can’t believe people still eat up that “I’m just an ordinary country singer making it in the big city.”

You know the thing is, I actually like her, I respect the way she does her business. What I can’t stand is the way the media or just people in general take off their critical thinking goggles just because she is this white, blonde, girl next door trope. At this stage she’s almost like a caricature of herself yet the

Apple said the same thing but Taylor forced them to reconsider in the name of ‘artists’ rights.’ In order to not look hypocritical, she should offer the same consideration to her photographers.

The photographer does not have the right to resell her/his images without the consent of the photo’s content

Sure, fuck her. But., it’s also up to those who are covering her to do so responsibly, and that means, among other things, seeing through that facade.

I’m a concert photographer. I don’t shoot portraits of musicians, however. There’s a difference and maybe you weren’t aware of that. When I’m hired to shoot on behalf of a publication, I’m sometimes paid up front by them for a catalog of images that are exclusive to that publication. The artist’s PR team has approved

Nope.

that was...a challenge to read, but are you saying photographers don’t have rights to work in the wild? it has to be a planned out shoot? bull. one might argue it’s even harder to get a good shot in the wild. anyway, you’ve clearly pulled this arbitrary distinction out of your ass.

I’m ok with it from Martha because she’s never pretended to be saccharin. She very clearly suffers not one fool.

I truly believe that people think that because they, too, can utilize an Instragram filter, they are photographers now. Like....nah.

Don’t forget buildings! All photo rights of buildings should go to the architect! ;)

the shit i’ve heard about martha....

The physical event may be Taylor’s vision but the photographs, and all the decisions related to when, where, and how to take a given photo, show the artistic vision of the photographer. The image shows us how they choose to interpret the world and share their version of it.

You’re actually pointing out an access problem. Not every photographer can afford a photoshoot with a high-paying, A-list celebrity. Just like every musical artist whose music is played on streaming services can’t afford to not be paid for that. It illustrates her point about Apple Music, which is why it IS

By your logic, if I’m getting what you’re saying correctly, any kind of photojournalist should cede rights of their work to their subjects...

Taylor Swift reminds me a lot of Martha Stewart. They are well dressed, polite, kind and can decorate and craft like no bodies business. I also think they honestly been the sweet things they do and go out of their way to say.

OMG. Thank you for this because I was really about to freak out. 46 KIDS?!?!? glad it’s not true. lol

Lol even a sex god. But really I looked it up and he only has 8 kids, including 2 that are his first wife’s daughters from her previous marriage.
